For the 2006 season, Bill rebuilt a Classic Norton outfit. He had a few teething problems, but managed to finish a few races, with either Debbie or Ian Salter passengering. He also did the Classic Parade at the 2006 TT with Sean Collister.
Bill continued racing his Classic Norton Outfit in 2007, with his mechanic from the ‘old days’, Mick Gillott, who helped both mechanically and financially. Thanks Mick!
In May, Bill managed to finish 7th Overall at Lydden with a brand new passenger Scott Cameron. It was Scott’s first race ever, so not a bad finish!
In June, Bill and Sean Collister did the Classic parade at the Centenary Year TT. At Brands Hatch in July, with Debbie Salter passengering, he finished 6th overall and 1st in class.
Later in July at Chimay in Belgium, Bill with another new but experienced passenger, Belgian Bert Vloemans, finished 3rd. After Chimay, a crack in the chassis meant he couldn’t race at Cadwell Park in August, so it was returned to Terry Windle for repairs.
In September, with Bert Vloemans again, they had a 1st and a 2nd at Gedinne in Belgium. Both races had big fields, so they were very pleased with the results.
Also in September, at Snetterton, Bill and Debbie Salter finished 6th and at Croft in October they finished 5th twice. Finally at Lydden in October, with Bert Vloemans, they finished 3rd in both races, unfortunately again with mechanical problems.
Bill and Debbie Salter won the Classic Club Championship for their class for 2007.
